I am a higher education leader specializing in adult education, lifelong learning, continuing education, and online learning. As Assistant Dean of Coastal Online and Continuing Education in the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies at Coastal Carolina University, I lead efforts to expand access to high quality credentials and lifelong learning programs to adult and online learners at Coastal Carolina University . I currently serve as President of the South Carolina Association for Higher Continuing Education, an organization for continuing education professionals in the state. I am involved with efforts at the state level, through the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education and the Coordinating Council of Workforce Development, to improve access to high quality educational programs through transfer and other means and to improve the coordination of workforce development efforts and higher education in South Carolina. Nationally, I serve on the Osher NRC Advisory Council which helps shape lifelong learning across the national network of over 120 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes.

From November 2016 to July 2017, I was a Fulbright Scholar in Madagascar at the University of Antananarivo where I taught American Studies, English, Humanities, and Philosophy. From 2007 to 2009, I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Madagascar where my primary responsibility was teaching English at a high school in the rural village of Ambatofinandrahana. As you can see from my research, I remain active in discussions and projects that span the globe. These experience helped shape me into an analytical, innovative, collaborative, and ethical leader with strong cross-cultural competencies.
